She slipped down an alley, hoping it would help control the smoke. She continued down the alley, stopping when she thought they were far enough down to aviod being detected. Pulling out the dictionary and lighter, she waited for him.

I follow her, watching around us. There was 'no' one in the dark ally, so that was clear.

She flicked the lighter, a bright flame sprouting from the lighter. With grey eyes reflecting the light she brought the fire to the dictionary. Greedy flames devoured the book, and she dropped it. The wind created by dropping the book only fueled the flames, creating a bright flare, then dimming down to its previous glow. Celeste had no fear of being burned, but she figured it would burn better on the ground where it could find other things to incinerate. The fire brought a thought to her mind, and she nearly laughed. Fires always burned better with alcohol.

I watch theflanes, as their reflections flicker in my eyes. The wind blew again my hair and I stare at the flames some more. Something just clicked in my mind when I thought of fire.

Wishing more and more she had a drink, she watched the flames. Absentmindedly flicking the lighter again, her eyes trailed the floor of the alley. Anything that could catch on? If not she might have to go back to the bookstore. Or was there a liquor store nearby? Maybe he had some on him?

My eyes flick over the fire and I'm in a trance like state. The fire was beautiful and wild, just like everything in nature. I had 'no' idea why I was thinking this but I just was.

"Got any liquor?" She asked, the urge becoming insatiable. If he didn't have any she would have to go get some. Whether she stole it or robbed someone she didn't care, she needed a drink. Now. Her eyes landed on a cardboard box, and she tossed that to the flames. Maybe satifying one urge would help calm the other.

I shake my head slowly. "take this." I hand her a card with my picture on it, it was a fake license that said I was 22.

"How's that gonna work? They might assume I stole it from you." She took the card anyways, and looked down the alley. Maybe he'd watch the fire. Eventually she'd come up with something. Right now she needed some liquor. Vodka, wine, whiskey, anything that tasted good. Which at this point was anything with alcohol. She needed it.

"just trust me, the guy knows me. I'll watch the fire." I say with my back to her still watching the flames roar up.

"Thanks." She headed back up the alley, to the liquor store they had passed. Walking in, she grabbed two bottles of Vodka, a bottle of red wine, and some whiskey. Oh the joys of a liquor store. Carrying the bottles to the register, she fished for her cash.

The guy looks at the license and nods. "ah, Zekes girlfriend?" he asks her.

She shakes her head. "Friend of his. How much?" Her eyes stayed on the liquor, at the moment she was fighting the urge to down a bottle right then and there.
